Tours

A tour is the easiest way to reach the big sights without driving the winding roads yourself. Operators and licensed taxi drivers run trips every day, usually with pickup from your hotel.

Ways to tour the island

Catamaran and boat cruises

The classic Saint Lucia day out. Boats sail down the west coast to Soufrière and the Pitons, usually with snorkeling, a beach stop and lunch on board. Most leave from Rodney Bay and Castries. Book ahead in the busy winter season.

Island sightseeing tours

Half or full-day trips by car or minibus that take in the south-west highlights: the drive-in Sulphur Springs volcano, Diamond Falls, the Pitons viewpoints, a cocoa or banana estate, and Marigot Bay.

Nature and hiking

Guided walks with local guides: the Gros Piton climb, the gentler Tet Paul Nature Trail with its Piton views, and rainforest and waterfall trails. A guide is required for Gros Piton and well worth it elsewhere.

Adventure

Zip-lining through the canopy, ATV trails, horseback riding on the beach, and snorkeling or diving at Anse Chastanet are all easy to book.

Private taxi day tours

Many licensed drivers offer custom island tours at your own pace. Agree the route, the stops and the price before you set off, and confirm whether entry fees and lunch are included.
